Redwood Park

the moat

The Moat was designed with ease of access in mind. With the four closest pegs, just a short distance from the main carpark, designed to suit the British Disabled Angling Association peg standards, we are unique in offering our disabled guests access to some of the best fishing in the York area.

The Moat also offers pegs that are designed for family anglers with children, with plenty of space available for helping those new to the sport and with limited experience.

More moat info

This lake, at just over half an acre, has 12 nicely spaced pegs and is our most well-stocked lake per capita. You can book the Moat for a match on our Match booking page.

Stocked with huge amounts of Carp, Roach, Barbel, Tench, and Bream waiting to be caught, plus a wide variety of other fish.

bait/tactics

Fish close in using single red maggot on a size 18 or 20 hook, feeding little and very often for good numbers of silver fish. Try swapping the maggot for a 4mm soft pellet to target the
slightly better silvers and small Carp.

You could also try fishing a hard pellet tight to the far bank, feeding micros for the Carp and Barbel.
